Paul Gorry is an award-winning British record producer, songwriter, and filmmaker. He has most recently turned to writing, with the launch of his new book – How To Bury Cars.
After initially writing How To Bury Cars as a stage play. A few friends read the first draft, and suggested it would suit the style of a gritty novella – so he could expand the characters and provide context. The book is now available worldwide and is rapidly gaining reader praise in the USA and UK.
How To Bury Cars is a taut British Gangster story, set over a single unforgettable night. Darkly comical, and told in real-time.
Set in the shadowy outskirts of a grimy British seaside town, two seasoned criminals wait in the dead of night for details of their next ‘target’. What begins as idle banter soon spirals into a tense unravelling of their criminal pasts and fractured souls.
As the hours drag on, confessions rise to the surface, loyalties crack, and buried guilt claws its way into the open. How to Bury Cars is a gritty, dialogue-driven thriller that fuses the bleak humour of In Bruges, with the existential unease of Waiting for Godot.
Told in real-time, this lean and tightly wound story peels back the layers of two men bound by violent upbringings. Leading them to the edge of something much, much darker.

Paul has been overwhelmed by the responce to his first novel. The ‘under the radar’ author has now started on his second book (non-fiction) about the catastrophic state of the British health service ‘The NHS’.
Paul plans to release the book in early 2026, along with a sequel to How To Bury Cars, based around Tommy’s Story.
